To put it into a simple definition a spiritual awakening is a newfound awareness of a spiritual reality. Urban Dictionary defines it as: “A spiritual awakening refers to a shift in consciousness, an apperception of reality which had been previously unrealized. The culmination of such realizations is in the recognition of oneness with all of existence.” A spiritual awakening can be slow or rapid, almost instant for some. It can mean different things to people. People experience spiritual awakenings in many, many different ways. Everyone has a different story in which they can tell you when they first started to “wake up” and when they first began their “spiritual awakening” journey. Because of this, there is no one way that people experience a spiritual awakening. Your story could be vastly different from someone else’s.
If you have experienced a spiritual awakening, you may feel a bit like Alice in Wonderland falling down the rabbit hole. Your life is, has, and will be altered in a spiritual awakening. You now start to see through the deception, disorder, lies, and illusions of this world. Deep in your soul, you realize that something is off. You question and wonder why more people around you aren’t experiencing this phenomenon. Why the information you see and or obtain isn’t easily noticeable to others still “sleeping.” You begin to realize nothing external and materialistic has ever brought you true happiness and or fulfillment. This great realization leaves you craving for something deeper and more fulfilling. Something that you can only seek from within that will make you feel whole once again.
Going through a spiritual awakening can feel like your going through one of the most loneliest, confusing, mind shattering, isolating, beautiful, enlightened, soul-searching, and roll-coaster experiences in your life. You will loose people who aren’t meant to be walking with you on your path anymore. You will yearn growth and rid of old habits and behaviors no longer serving you. It can feel like both a blessing and a curse at the same time. I assure you it is a true blessing to have an “eye” (your third eye has and will open) that really does see. Many people aren’t ready to hear eye awakening truths, to become true to themselves, and help with the involvement in the changes they wish to see in the world. Transformations can bring ego deaths.
It can feel like a burden that will never come to fruition. But, when you have a spiritual awakening your awareness grows, consciousness grows, your interests evolve, the meaning of life changes for you, you begin to have new aspirations, new inspirations, and you desire to consistently become a better version of yourself. You desire truer knowledge that will benefit you on a conscious level. You are looking at what we call life completely differently, almost like being born again. You are becoming who you truly were meant to always be! You would be surprised how many people are experiencing an awakening, but are too afraid of being casted aside by loved one and being misunderstood.
Even shifts in reality can happen. Just do your best to ground! It truly is a blessing to awaken.
Shine your Light and try to guide others along the way!
